Vincenzo Callea is an italian dj producer, famous and appreciated all over the world. Behind the success of projects as Flander (#1 in the Usa) and behind the Ti.Pi.Cal. hits, infact, there's his talent. He produces records since '91 and sold about 300.000 singles and 10 millions of compilations. Born and raised in Sicily, he live and works in Palermo since he was 18. He remixed tracks by italian popstars as Jovanotti and Celentano. His sound is always original and the melodies of his tracks always stick to your mind.
"It's about 21 years that I produce music and during the years I explored different kinds of music", he explains. "But I always go back to what gives me the biggest emotions. I grew up with Atari, new wave, Dark and new romantic. In my songs I always quote these worlds!".
His recent single "Turn off the Lights" follows his late solo debut, "God Can't Sleep When ur Sad", out in 2012. The track was released in December 2012, is sung by William Naraine and it's a global hit. Supported by top dj's as Pete Tong, Tiesto, Nicky Romero, Thomas Gold, Arty and R3hab, it reached the top of the charts all over the world (#1 Radio 105 Club Chart - Italy, #4 Buzz Chart UK - #14Cool Cuts UK - #19 Australian Aria Chart).
It's really hard to sum up the hits of the 21 years long career of Vincenzo Callea, who produced more than180 tracks. His Ti.Pi.Cal. had 10 singles in Italian Top Ten. The Colour Inside” stayed at #1 for 12 weeks. Their comeback, in the Spring of 2011 with "Stars", a great song (and the album of the same name), made them known also to whom in the '90's was too young to go clubbing. His Flanders, in 2008 reached #1 of the prestigious Billboard Airplay Charts with "Behind", climbing over all the popstars. Bamble B, Naive and Kreò reached similar results, but where important also projects as The Cop, VDC, Sea Flower and Coco Bongo. The sound of Vincenzo Callea is always unique, that's the reason why Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez or Erick Morillo always support his productions . The success of his records often carries him in radios and tv's in Italy and abroad (Top Of The Pops, Festivalbar, Non è la Rai, Radio 105, Deejay, Rtl 102.5, in the USA Energy 97.2). As a dj, he performs in important clubs as Locomotive in Paris (France), The Cellar in San Francisco (Usa), Millaenya in Frosinone and Divinae Follie in Bisceglie (Ba) in Italy.
