BBC 6 Music, 2006. by Vic McGlynn published on 2014/02/26 16:46:22 +0000 Blimey, doesn't time fly? in 2003, at the age of 25 I presented the lunchtime show (1pm - 4pm) for 3 years, taking over from Liz Kershaw and preceding Nemone. I love(d) the station, but at that age struggled with the scrutiny (that comes with such a high-profile job) I experienced. I was offered another contract, but declined, instead taking advantage of the working visa in Australia. I left in August 2006. The most common question posed to me is, "do you regret leaving?". Fortunately I'm armed with blinkers (that only slip on occasion), and try to look forward. No regrets. My time at 6 was extraordinary; I met some amazingly creative people, some lovely people, and one of my best friends. Now I enjoy alternative music because I love it; it's no longer a job.
