Amber Elizabeth Halpern
Amber Elizabeth Auston Halpern was born in Manhattan's Greenwich Village on September 29th, 1986. Hailing from a diverse family background including Cherokee Native American, African American and Irish she is richly influenced by her culture and that of the city in which she lives.
Her idols span a vast array of sounds including such greats as Mariah Carey, Kurt Cobain, PJ Harvey, Stevie Wonder, Sleater-Kinney, Sade, U2, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Sarah McLaughlin, a host of other great talents and the incomprable Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. She is a multi talented prodigy as a dancer, writer, singer, actress, musician, equestrian, designer, crafter and teacher.
Her producer, Tres B was a prodigy, making music since early childhood. His first band included virtuoso's who now tour with the some of the best to have ever graced the stage. His background of reggae, bossanova, jazz, classical, pop, gospel, r&b, hip hop, funk, house, disco, reggaeton, country, rock, blues, trip hop, and new age make him well versed and welcome to music listerners any and everywhere. A well rounded musician, trained in percussion, string, and wind instruments since elementary school. All of his eclectic tastes are aided by a dedicated songwriter hits flow on a constant basis.
Goddaughter to L.L. Cool J, step-granddaughter to Michael Halpern, descendant of Pocahontas, the Llewellyn family, and two generations of Career Army-men, she grew up living the life of a Manhattan Princess. Having spent several years in Los Angeles exposed a new world of talent and movie sets. She is six degrees seperated by several well known actors, writers, designers, stylists, photographers, models, dancers and musicians. Many of these valued connections were made in childhood and continued into adulthood.
Despite the glamour she knew she was born to a teenage single mother as the eldest of six children navigating life in all five boroughs in New York (including Bed Stuy, Brooklyn). She has experienced hardship, pain, fear and concern as times grew tough. Her music displays the experiences she's had as well as those yet to come. She will no doubt leave an indellible mark on the music industry and the world as we know it.
