My name is Velian Staykov aka velqn – I am 35 years old and live in Sofia, Bulgaria (Eastern Europe). I work mainly as a Project Manager in the area of IT Service Management and as a journalist and musician freelancer. In the year 2005 I have released my first album for a net label Stretching Spaces that sadly does not exist more. Good news - I will be uploading it to soundcloud later this year:)

I am creating music in the last 15 years, all kinds but mainly IDM, ambient, some trance in the past. My home studio is a simple one using FL Studio as main sequencer/VST host, Korg PADKontrol for drums, Akai LPK25 for midi, Line 6 GX to record my guitars and a Behringer mic+mixer to record vocals. I am not a fan of samples so I am a lot into FM synthesis and all possible sound generators. I am trying to sample by myself if i need something. I myself play guitar (electric, acoustic) but I am more of a moderate player. Lately I have been using the iPad for midiTouch/network MIDI a lot as a controller and it works quite okay. I am trying to use my guitar to track down midi with different plugins. I have been experimenting with Logic X under Mac OS X and I am loving it so far.
