One Billion Rising by Catherine Feeny by V-Day

When I sat down to write a song for One Billion Rising, I was overwhelmed by images of violence, and at first I struggled to translate those into words. But then those images subsided, and what struck me was the incredible resilience of the spirit. I watched a piece about City of Joy, and was blown away by the women there turning terrible pain into monumental strength. Pain is universal, but so is transformation. And transformation inspires me. Hope inspires me.
