Van Gaux Van Gaux Berkeley, CA Van Gaux, born Van Firenze, was a singer-songwriter born in Los Angeles, California in 1963, but spent most of his musical career in Berkeley. After his tragic death in 1996, he became an overnight sensation due to the support of actress, Lindsey Elmwood. She supervised the posthumous release of five CD's: "Songs from the Heart" in 1997, "Bedroom at Arles" in 1998 , "Passing Through" and "Cure for a Broken Heart" in 1999, and lastly, "Live? Or a Memory" in 2000. Van's amazing true story can now be found in the new book, "Van Gaux Lives" told by former "Rolling Stone" writer Will Conroy.
