Kern West Kern West Kern West is a singer and songwriter born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She comes from a family deeply rooted in the arts. Growing up, Kern was surrounded by musicians and artists who influenced her development resulting in the artist she is today. Kern’s greatest influence was her father Jim West; a writer and singer of songs who recorded in the late 1970’s working with wonderful musicians in Los Angeles including the legendary Hot Band. Kern is inspired by an eclectic group of artists such as Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, Anne Murray, George Jones, K.D. Lang and others.
