Yule V2 Mixdown by telliotter published on 2016-12-19T22:07:34Z Long before Christmas was, well, Christmas, this time of year was known as Yule by the Germanic tribes of Europe. Many of the Christmas traditions, including the Yule log, carols, and even the Christmas ham, come from this earlier, pagan festival, which was traditionally twelve days long. While much of the Yule celebration was eventually either overshadowed by or absorbed into Christmas, neopagan groups still celebrate the winter solstice festival at this time of year. One of those groups is the Novices of the Old Way, or NOW. Tori Elliott reports.
