The Waggle Dance Of The Honey Bees _ By Gugulethu Dumama Duma by Dunja published on 2022-08-04T15:18:15Z The sound for HUM was conceived for a show by Dunja Herzog that happened in June 2022 in Johannesburg. It consisted of seven bee hives of Terra Cotta and a multi channel sound installation . The sound used in HUM was provided to the musicians via a Sound Bank. This digital archive was established the recording of Instruments, that where all made first out of bees wax and then casted from recycled and electronic waste in Benin-City Nigeria, in the Workshop of Phil Omodamwen. The wax instruments were made as "Instruments for the One who dances with jiggling brass" - a homage to the Yoruba river deity Oshun. All the musicians have a close link to the artists itinerary or are geographically linked to the story of the global copper trade. Big thanks to all the musicians for their wonderful contributions.
