FIELD DAY 2020 by Naomi Delkamiller by MarianMBeatPC published on 2020-04-26T22:16:13Z As the COVID-19 pandemic spread around the country, more and more parts of my life seemed to fade away. Without school, extracurriculars or hours at work, the lockdown felt like a restriction on my identity more than anything else. The hours at home gave me more than enough time to wallow in my grief- until I decided to turn what I missed most into a podcast. I am a junior at Marian High School in Omaha, Nebraska- an all girls Catholic school that has a tradition like no other: Field Day. The goal is for students to show the most school spirit with the fewest and simplest resources. Classes develop a deeper bond, the school unites, and students learn valuable skills in problem solving, leadership, and collaboration in the span of five days. It is the first time since 1959 that this annual tradition will not take place in its usual form, but I hope this podcast can keep the Marian spirit alive through these difficult times.
