Examining Justice, Episode 1: The Fight for Dignity by ACLU of Georgia

In the first episode of Examining Justice, we discuss the push for a Dignity Bill in Georgia. The 2019 legislative session is in full swing and one topic that is making a lot of noise is whether Georgia will finally outlaw the shackling of pregnant women and improve the conditions women endure in correctional facilities. Currently, there are three bills in the House of Representatives regarding the treatment of incarcerated women and mothers.

We sit down with Pamela Winn, Representative David Dreyer, and Amy Ard to discuss their quest to improve the lives of incarcerated women and mothers through advocacy, politics, and childbirth and postpartum health education.
