Fit To Eat For April 5, 2022 Andy Wright by Ivan Emke published on 2022-04-04T21:56:24Z "We have a bit of a carrot following." "Pumpkin season is a blast." "Everybody thinks that it's easy to grow a strawberry and it's not." If you guessed that this is a farm market u-pick operator speaking, step right up and collect your prize! This week on "Fit to Eat" we head down a long, narrow lane to a place that is always ready for a chat - a vegetable farm in winter! If you've ever taken the TCH (Trans Canada Highway, for those from away...), you've likely seen the dandy farm where we're headed today. In strawberry season you'll see lots of folks in the fields, bent over their baskets, seeking those tasty jewels of the summer. If it is pumpkin season, you'll see the bright orange spheres that litter some of the fields, and the happy families out there getting some agri-tainment. This is Wright's Family Farm. I sat down on a wintry afternoon with Andy Wright and chatted about how the path to his farm went through a seminary, about the joys and challenges of being in the agri-tainment business, about mental health and farming, and about how growing food for the world is the job of superheroes. Oh, and he tells us "the secret" as well. Be prepared. Join us. Genre Learning Comment by Anna Olson Thanks for sharing your passion. So inspiring. Can’t wait for this growing season. 2022-04-14T18:11:14Z
