Contributors: Bolanle Tajudeen, Jasmine Uddoh and Rosa-Johan Uddoh, with support from Star Tajudeen. Four brown girls meet near the house where iconic radio producer Una Marson once lived, and listen for her voice. Una Marson was a British/Jamaican activist, radio producer, presenter, and poet; the first black radio producer at the BBC in 1942. She is commemorated with a blue plaque on the house where she lived on Brunswick Park road opposite The Bower. 'Una's Voice' was specially recorded at The Bower with Bolanle Tajudeen, Jasmine Uddoh and Rosa-Johan Uddoh, with support from Star Tajudeen for Art Licks Weekend Radio. It stems from Johan Uddoh's research into Una Marson's life and work and exhibition at Black Tower Projects earlier this year when she began the ‘Una Marson Reading & Listening Group’. This broadcast for Art Licks Weekend is a pilot for a forthcoming project which will take place at The Bower.
