Expanding Universe Quintet Michael Alizon The universe is an infinite space where the unpredictable is the norm. There are numerous parallels between space exploration and the universe of sound, making them a constant source of inspiration. Inspired by the photographs of the Hubble probe, the music of Expanding Universe Quintet evokes the essence of the universe, in both its written and improvised explorations. Yet at the same time it avoids simplistic associations and references. It evolves along established paths but seeks to explore unknown territories. Timbral and rhythmic explorations, anti-gravitational sounds, grooves that are both urban and ethereal, to the point of weightlessness... eight tracks to send the listener into orbit!
