Folk Music(disquiet0269) by schtean published on 2017-02-26T22:12:05Z This is a song from my homeland. I also dressed up in my ancestor's clothing to do the video. I just made a video of a small part, since really the best take I did at home, and the video was taken outside. Basically I don't play any instruments, but everyone can sing (well kind of) so I decided to sing a traditional folk song. I recorded it on my zoom recorder, no editing just the raw file. .... a bit more on this ... what's above was my initial reaction when I read the disquiet, basically I don't play an instrument, so I should try singing. Anyway, sometimes at home I just start singing songs in a made up language, and it make my wife laugh (and kids cringe) so I thought I would try doing that. I tried a few times and finally got something I thought was reasonable (mostly because of the emotional expression ... even if a bit on the silly side). I thought of it as someone pining for their homeland or a lost love, so I thought it would look cool to wear some of my dad's clothes that I have. Then I thought well since I have long hair, I should be able to do something with that, then since the hat doesn't cover my ears (and it's cold outside here) I can use the hair to do that, then I thought braiding it to look like a beard would be suitably ridiculous. On Sunday (when I'd already basically mentally committed to the singing), I thought I could do something like playing my push, or lemur on my ipad, but I would have to figure something out ... maybe next time for that ... here is the link to the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KssHxOnxLww&feature=youtu.be More on this 269th weekly Disquiet Junto project, “Duet Portion: Record half of a live duet” at: http://disquiet.com/0269/ More on the Disquiet Junto at: http://disquiet.com/junto/ Subscribe to project announcements here: http://tinyletter.com/disquiet-junto/ Project discussion takes place on llllllll.co: llllllll.co/t/record-half-a-duet-disquiet-junto-project-0269/6652 There’s also on a Junto Slack. Very clever, I like your style, you might check out Tom Waits "Kommienezuspadt", also a fictional language, and similarly fun :-) 2017-02-28T05:20:13Z Comment by schtean @an2netto: that's what I was going for :) thanks! 2017-02-27T23:48:55Z Comment by schtean @user-242143924: ... actually I wish I knew what they meant :P 2017-02-27T22:03:50Z Comment by schtean @user-242143924: Thanks! 2017-02-27T15:41:29Z Comment by FJNA great lyrics!(I guess) 2017-02-27T02:39:53Z
