Trump vs. NYT on Improving the Science Government Uses to Form Public Policy(Guest: Merril Matthews) by The Heartland Daily Podcast published on 2019-06-13T18:47:46Z Climate models are notoriously inaccurate and the farther out the projections they make the more wrong they are. Recognizing this is a weakness of all econometric and climate models, the Trump administration has suggested limiting the projections used by government agencies to 2040. The New York Times blasted the proposal say Trump was attacking climate science and preventing the government from "reporting on the future effects," of climate change. Matthews responds, "one might be forgiven for thinking that reporting was supposed to focus on past events. Indeed, it’s not entirely clear how one reports on something that hasn’t happened—and may never happen."
