Hal & Johns SideShow Hal VanCanneyt John Groesse Memphis I, John, am a singer and bassist, my partner Hal is a singer and guitarist. We are a duo call Sideshow. We do a variety of music including oldies, standards, country, blues, R&B, Gospel and Rock . We put our spin on most of it and we are assisted by music tracks we have created in our studio It comes out sounding like we are a full band. We have an eclectic mix of material that will make you want to get up and dance or a least tap your feet and sing along. I have a studio and do Tracks for duo, singles etc that need original sounding gig tracks. I have worked for major labels in Los Angeles and study engineering there. I also do pre production and get some of the best drums sounds around. I play the bass for a living and Hal my partner plays guitar. I have played in a few popular bands in Memphis in years past, Magpie, Great Plains Band, Coon Elder & Brenda Patterson Band, Randy and The Radiants, Jerry Jaye and The Jaye Walkers, Elmo and The Shades. Hal VanCanneyt Born in Seattle, went to school in Memphis Played in various bands during high school I have played in house bands in Memphis clubs Business owner I continued playing with groups around town including the Eddie Harrison & Shortkuts and the Hombres Went to work for Memphis Audio In the late 90s I got a call from a group and met John After that group disbanded I went on to sing at Heartsong Church Fast forward to fall of 2017 I got a call from John asking if I would be interested in playing, having a deep respect for John’s talent and love for music, I jumped on that train and am enjoying the ride.
