Daviid Xan Black

Daviid Xan Black(24) based in South Africa. Apart from being a Creative Director & Owner of an Exclusive clothing brand (‘Noir Couture Excl.’) , Xan is an all round creative, the self proclaimed (yet showcasing countless times through his social media pages) photographer, hypebeast, songwriter, a musical vanguard and an artist with no boundaries. David is truly one of one. Some of his biggest fears include losing his authenticity through seeking validation from society, in hopes to be more relatable to the masses, in turn- being mediocre, and/or being average.

To Daviid, music is a form of expression to avoid suppressing a lot of negativity he comes across. Also, a way to flaunt his flamboyant persona. Often being the most quiet/reserved individual in the room, without a doubt, you’ll find that he could be considered the most confident - figuratively making him a perfect example of what one would consider “ a walking paradox” .

The theme ‘isolation’ forms one of the bases to the many that you’ll experience through his music.

“I don’t see people as competition bro, I see them more as collaborators. Like, I acknowledge their existence but me trying to compare would be almost blasphemous. I’m in my own lane, going against my new demons and my past self- so in all honesty, I really don’t have much time or leisure to be going against people who aren’t even close to achieving the goals at the levels that I’m going to achieve them at. There’s only 1 Daviid Xan Black, bro… and I’m going to Run S.A Hip Hop/Rap.

Isolate: To separate/identity oneself from others.

i$olation - Mode_. - a mind-state. state of mind. the process of basically finding oneself, through isolation & consequential self introspection.

“Growing up as a popular kid, more often that not I’d find myself ‘lost’ in a crowd seeking for answers or validation from external entities, and i only learnt that about myself through constant introspection and bittersweet life experiences. Basically, through all that…I found solace in the silence.”
