CATS 01 - Conny's Playground by "The S-Collection" published on 2017-11-27T10:52:09Z "CATS (Conny And The Sound)" is Rainer Sauer's final part of his "S-Trilogy", where "S" stands for sound. At the end of his sound journey, Sauer devotes himself to sound magician Konrad "Conny" Plank, who died in December 1987. Every detail of the album "CATS" revolves around Conny and his work. Even the nature sounds Sauer recorded on a meadow outside Conny's former studio in Wolperath near Cologne, have been recorded with a dummy head for realistic headphone performance. Conny Plank's connection to Cologne also explains the associated songs "Wolperath" and "Driving Out The Streets Of Cologne" and his faible for the unexpected brain-stimulating parts of an exciting soundrecording (Rainer Sauer calls it "Augmented Sounds" in his works) lead to "CATS" songs like "Mooghafen" or "Soft Drugs". And a very special thing should not go unmentioned: Again, Rainer Sauer has recorded an album to a large extent exclusively with iPhone and iPad.
