CASA Podcast by Molly Ewing published on 2020-12-11T06:08:16Z For my Girl Scout Gold Award Project I have created a series of podcasts, each one focusing on a different New Hampshire non-profit. I got the chance to interview representatives from each non-profit and they were able to tell me about the work their organization does for the community. The goal of the podcasts is to educate the public on the non-profit organizations that are helping the communities thrive. I want people to know about these organizations to be able to use them as a resource for them or their family but also I want the taxpayers of New Hampshire to learn about the non-profit organizations that receive state and town funding. I hope you enjoy the series and are able to learn about something you might never have known about. In this episode I talked to Julia LaFleur and Carolyn Cote to learn about CASA of NH. Julia is the Development Assistant and Carolyn is the Communications Director at CASA of NH. CASA or Court Appointed Special Advocates uses volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused or neglected children in court. A CASA advocate can be anyone who has the desire to help the children in New Hampshire who need a safe home and a loving family. Julia and Carolyn told me about the history of the organization in New Hampshire, how they have has to adapt and modify due to the COVID-19 pandemic and how they use state and town funding to train new volunteers. If you would like to learn more about CASA of NH you can visit them at their website www.casanh.org. Comment by Hal Kreider Nicely done Molly! 2020-12-11T14:58:58Z
