Seattle 2020 - National Security and Diplomacy by US-China Series published on 2020-01-24T11:57:44Z China’s economic rise has led to claims about a new kind of military rival to the United States not seen since the Soviet Union. As the complexity of the digital age changes the nature of conflict and cooperation, the United States and China are central to a quickly evolving world order. We discuss an array of topics from the differing policy stance likely taken in the event of a Democrat Presidency in 2020, the artificial intelligence arms race in the military, the impacts of Xinjiang and Hong Kong and the notion that China has no other global interest than the protection of the Communist Party.
