James Hunter is an alternative folk musician hailing from Wellington, New Zealand. Hunter writes, records, and produces minimal scope records, but is intimate through his vocal delivery. The abrupt appearance of COVID 19 allowed Hunter the chance to release Two EPs, 'Last little While' and 'You' which were created entirely from a small room in his Wellington flat. Since then, both EP’s have gained a total of over 7k streams, favourable reviews from media outlets such as Muzic.net and May Magazine. Hunter's sounds are created in narratives that allow listeners to journey with him through vulnerable places in the human soul: love, fear, faith, joy, pain. He hopes to share his life with others, hoping to grow with others and connect with others in the process. Hunter also brings an intimate live performance, and has successfully played debut Headlining shows in both Auckland and Wellington, has opened for Jeremy Redmore in his Brightest Flame Tour, and is organising his debut tour around Aotearoa in October 2021. Aside from music, James is a very prolific actor, writer, performer, and director who is working on multiple projects in all of these areas, from Shakespeare in professional theatre, or the creation of original short films.
