Athanasia Kontou Manchester Athanasia is a Manchester-based composer. She is the 2019 RLPO Christopher Brooks Composition Prize winner. Her works have been performed in various festivals and venues in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy and Greece. She studied privately with Panayiotis Demopoulos in Kozani Greece, and subsequently at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
