Loudon Temple Musician, Writer and Journalist talks about his musical career by Mac Arts published on 2021-09-10T10:57:58Z Loudon Temple Selkirk-born, a Souter and proud of it, Loudon Temple grew up in Hawick and began a career in journalism in 1968, retiring in 2018 after writing professionally for exactly fifty years. As a teenager, he was lead vocalist with Borders bands The Diamonds and The Ceiling Light Machine and in his early twenties, fronted Hawick-based band Lordy. He has written about and promoted music all his life, setting up his own music agency, Brookfield-Knights in 2004 and touring the artists he represented (mostly from the USA, Canada and Ireland) until that all came to a halt due to the pandemic in March 2020. During the lockdown, he kept busy and published two books – The Music Goes ‘Round and ‘Round which focuses on his various musical memories and interests, and There’s Gold In Them Thar Hills – a humourous look back at his childhood adventures and misadventures. He continues to run his successful music promo operation, Bloodygreatpr, representing clients whose work he admires, and is happily married to Brenda (nee Smith) who has her own jewellery making business, having graduated from Glasgow School of Art in the mid-‘70s.
