Community strengths: Inspiring change in teaching and learning by UOW published on 2017-12-08T00:14:03Z How can educators connect to one another, and to their communities, to make teaching and learning experiences more authentic, relevant and meaningful? At this Uni in the Brewery event, UOW researchers describe three projects where a ‘community of strength’ has been cultivated to positively influence learning. The case studies bring learnings from an Indigenous community in the remote Arctic region of Canada, an Australian primary school exploring dementia, and a network of Tasmanian early childhood centres to inspire educators who are looking for ways in which they can connect to one another, and to their communities to nurture global citizens who are adaptable, resilient and understanding.
