Demons - Unsung Lilly by UnsungLilly published on 2019-11-15T22:51:27Z British wife & wife, Sera & Frankie, otherwise known as epic pop band Unsung Lilly, are set to release their new single ‘Demons’ on Nov 21. The first release since their album ‘Twelve’ hit the internet back in June this year, ‘Demons’ takes on a whole new level of power, depth and impact! The girls co-produced the track with Tim Sonnefeld (Usher, Elvis Costello), and also called on the Grammy award winning ‘master of all mastering’ Howie Weinberg, who has been responsible for mastering legendary albums such as Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ and Jeff Buckley’s ‘Grace’. ‘We recorded pretty much the whole of our last album ourselves, and self produced it, so it feels like a huge step up for this record. I can’t wait for people to hear it’, explains Frankie, who performs all the instrumentation on the track. Both lyrically and sonically, ’Demons’ dives into the pain we can carry around with us we negotiate our own ‘inner demons’, and contains a magical fusion of depth and emotion combined with a freedom and liberation from the heaviness. ‘Writing the lyrics for this song was very much part of me releasing my own inner demons. I realised when we actually take a moment to look at whats going on, rather than sticking our heads in the sand (as I tend to do), thats when that pain can really be released. I hope that people experience that same release when listening to the song,’ explains lyricist Sera Unsung Lilly originally formed in the UK in 2012 (with their then boyfriends) but a few years into the project fell madly in love, to the surprise of everyone. The rest of the group disbanded and the girls moved to California to develop their new sound as a duo. Now wife and wife, based in Los Angeles, Sera & Frankie create epic and empowering pop anthems with soul, inspiring passionate followers from the women’s empowerment movement, and of course the LGBTQ community amongst others. Their message that ‘love knows no boundaries’ is one that has ignited thousands of their fans around the world.
