Sonic diversity is arguably a very underrated characteristic of modern musicians in a world where conformity and pigeonholing are rampant. Our next guest Stefan Goldmann is about as diverse as it can get. Known for running the Macro label with Finn Johannsen and his close association with Berlin's Berghain, Stefan has established himself as a unique artistic voice among Berlin's monochrome uniformity. Apart from DJing around the globe, he has also ventured into a line of projects hacking away at the core features of techno, with systematic forays into irregular rhythms, microtonal tunings, or the recontextualisation of industrial sound design. He has conceived site-specific performances for venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, LA's LACMA museum and Kyoto's Honen-in Temple and worked with Ensembles, visual artists and filmmakers.

For his Unrush mix, Stefan Goldmann cut up more than 60 recordings of 20th-century acoustic avant-garde compositions. Through layering segments of individual instrumental and chamber performances form emergent orchestral opulence. Goldmann has tackled acoustic archives before with his edit of multiple recordings of Igor Stravinsky's 'Le Sacre du Printemps'. However, this mix travels through the disparities and convergences of seven decades of score-based music with impressive results.
