Updates - 3/21/12

I recently joined the team at DubUnderground.org and am thrilled. We are dedicated to providing a community of support, networking and promotions for lesser-known and underground artists. Please check out our facebook page via the link above - great people, great music.
As for my productions, things are beginning to pick up. I'm making a bit more free time and have cleared a 3 month block of production time this summer. I have a couple of weeks of professional studio time lined up at the beginning of the summer - something I'm very excited about.
I am currently working on two albums, planned for release near the end of summer 2012 :) One will be a concept album with the working title, "Dystopia", the other will be...very different from that.
I can't wait to get to work on all of this. Thank you so much to all of you that have given me your support, and all of you that drop by to listen from time to time. My unintentional hiatus is nearly over! ;)
Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone for following, commenting, favoriting, downloading and especially for listening.
I'm open to all suggestions, criticisms and opinions. Please let me know what you think of my tracks.
If you comment, I'll give your stuff a play and return the favor. Don't hesitate to inbox me/send me private tracks. I spend a lot of time listening to others' work, and I always appreciate people sharing music with me. I'm here to hear.
I have been DJing professionally since I was 15 and have been doing it regularly for a little over 10 years now. I've gone by a handful of schnazzy stage names over the years, but usually prefer going by my real name, Tyson Reid.
I've recently taken up the moniker XEL - An intentional misspelling of the Yucatec Mayan word for 'sun' - exclusively for my dubstep productions. The full backstory of the nickname would be too lengthy to post here.
I'm an anthropologist and school teacher. I teach 8th grade history and health.
As an anthropologist I love culture, and my preferred ways to experience culture are through food and, of course, music. I love all types of music (really, from every electronic genre, especially dub and DnB, to classic county/folk/bluegrass to jazz, blues, hip hop, rap, reggaeton, corridos, cumbias, duranguense, metal..I've made my point).
Anyways, thanks for listening to my stuff. I hope you like it. . More will come as I find the time to produce.
