The Madwoman (Richard Williams, tenor) is looking for her son who has disappeared. She meets The Traveller (Sergio Belluz, baritone) who convinces the Ferryman (Andy Greenwood, baritone) to let her board his boat in order to cross the river. The Ferryman tells her about a kidnapped boy who died not far away and who’s grave has become a place of pilgrimage. The spirit of the boy appears to his mother and she is at last at peace.
