Untitled/Mountain/Summer [disquiet0456] by El Cjadaldiaul published on 2020-09-26T23:51:59Z "I'm very careful not to have ideas, because they're inaccurate." -- Agnes Martin My entry for the Disquiet Junto Project 0456: Line Up. The Assignment: Interpret a painting by Agnes Martin as if it were a graphic score. I actually used 3 paintings: Untitled (1960), Mountain (1960), and Summer (1964). All were processed through Virtual ANS, a spectral synthesizer by the amazing @NightRadio, so in a way I used them as *literal* graphic scores. On top of that, I added some atmospheric piano and a few chords, keeping the fundamental horizontality of the composition. It's subtle work. Some may even say, boring. Heh. -- Virtual ANS, GEM S2 keyboard, RE-1 Tape Machine, final mix in Ardour. Artwork: Agnes Martin, Untitled, 1960 (https://www.moma.org/collection/works/34006), loaded in Virtual ANS.
