Spalding Art Trail BBC Radio Lincolnshire 22 - 04 - 16 by TransportedArt published on 2016-05-10T10:31:57Z On 22nd April 2016 Melvyn Prior broadcast his whole Friday morning show on BBC Radio Lincolnshire from Spalding, to coincide with the unveiling of a new public art trail in the town by artist Joseph Hillier. Joseph was commissioned by Transported and the Spalding & District Civic Society to create the start of a public art trail for the town. His approach was to 3D scan local people, some of which recreating old historic photos taken in Spalding, and then cast the 3D sculptures into bronze. There are 14 in total which are mounted onto buildings around Spalding town centre. The broadcast talks to a number of those scanned and proprietors of the buildings the sculptures are on, as well as Transported Programme Director Nick Jones and the artist Joseph Hillier about the project as a whole.
