I've crafted this recording of songs to celebrate a forthcoming rave based soirée which you will read about in the following communiqué. Firstly, here’s the goods…..
It’s a mix that touches on soul, gospel, disco, house, boogie, Afro, UKG and snide funky handbag whoppers (that ya secretly love). It was recorded in one take, warts-and-all on a muggy Tuesday evening on a Pioneer XDJ-RX2.
Featuring music by Kapote, Gloria Jay, Will Tramp, Basement Boys, Jeremy Sylvester, Masters at Work, Glenn Davis, Shadow Child and a few others.
You could play it to get you in the mood for a dance based event, you could play it at the afters to kill the mood and send your waffling mates home, you could even play it at a alternative bar mitzvah!
It’s that House dance club sound that you can take ANYWHERE.
Here’s what some respected critics had to say..
"An aural tour de force of tops off tits out todger tackle for the disenfranchised disco dandies. Is it on Zippyshare?"
"The best service station bargain bin mix cd I ever heard, AND for only 3.99 when you buy a large dairy milk and The Telegraph. I never realised music could be so upbeat and positive."
"OoOoOffft. A reet fucking funky bastard of a mix. When’s that Will Tramp record out? Is there any guest list going for the rave?”
To celebrate Manchester Pride Festival, Homoelectric throw a top buzz, finger buffet dinner dance do every year on the August bank holibobz. Honestly it’s mint love. Ain’t even that many scathing trip advisor reviews about us. Check it out m8.
Anyway… For 2018 the plan is to take over three floors of our now, deeply cherished home of Hidden nightclub. This pearler of a party palace is located deep in the bowels of Cheeto-Mc-Jails-ville-hill... Where if ya venture down the wrong street you’ll find angry spiced up brass alongside knock off bandito’s running rampant selling snide gucci sliders and vape pens. It's mint.
On August Bank Holiday, It’s all about PRIDE.
Expect Italo throbbers, Acidic face melters, disco diva screamapellas and sleazy sex funk for late night lovers (and some Madge at some point too no doubt).
We have invited some good friends to help us see in this wondrous occasion that is fondly know to some as 'Gay Christmas' and 'New Queers Eve’. Meet them in this riveting next section.
Guest no. 1
`For the third time a man who has been at the forefront of cross genre DJ culture for over 20 years and has too many accolades to mention joins us. He’s some Turk-cockney maaaaaag named Erol Alkan and he wants to play a load of... Disco / anything goes / 'Shazam ain’t shit’/ camp chuggers and queer curveballs set alongside 'r Willy T.
You will encounter all tempos, dark lighting, arpeggios, sassy piano basement bangers, sweaty enlightenment, cowbells and a flagrant disregard for linear basic, beige, barry, beatport banter beats.
Guest no. 2
Joining Gina Breeze on the ground floor is Michael Upson, DJ and founder of Leeds’ club night Love Muscle. Starting almost three years ago in response to the generally dire state of queer night-life in Leeds, Love Muscle aims to provide an inclusive space for the LGBTQ population of the city with slightly more discerning music taste. “We want to make people feel good about themselves and celebrate their sexuality through the music that’s ultimately a part of their history.” A sentiment we share at Homoelectric.
This leaves Jamie Bull and Luke Unabomber. They're going to b2b in the loft. It'll be well cosmic dude.
Coming then yeah?
