Had fun with Sequetron, all parts were played live on my nano-guitar (Korg nanopad2), everything is played in one go, no edits at all!
I used 4 instances of SQ8L, all played live in Sequetron and used a pizmidi
channel splitter plugin, based on polyphony (pizmidi Polyphony). I set it to 1 note or two notes
polyphony, so I could achieve interesting layering effects. This is a good
trick I can recommend anybody. Drums were Linndrum samples from internet.
There is just one more, long noteish melody, from Synth1, recorded also
previously into another track in Sequetron.
My recording order was as follows:
1. Linndrum disco drum style was playing, in a self clicked style chain,
thanks to this great Sequetron feature.
2. Played some octave bassline, for the disco feeling (triggering first
SQ8L), in step recording mode into Sequetron. Even if the pattern is short I played 8 notes or so, then we have a little more velocity variation, as you should hopefully hear. Now disco background was going nicely.
3. Recorded into a new track the long noteish melody, going to Synth1. Nothing spectacular, some minor melody, quite short, looping all the time.
4. Finally, this is the most fun part, playing Live on top of this repeating
structure, the track going to the 4 SQ8L instances, where the bassline was
the first instance. So depending on how many notes I am adding on my
nano-guitar the sounds were changing, I had also a few other Sequetron
tracks going to these 4 SQ8L which were playing playmute variants. Or was this in another song? Very
quickly, created, almost a nice disco song.
Thanks to Phil Tipping for the great Sequetron and these new drum-styles and bass-styles are a great addition to Sequetron.
