Tokyo Tramps Boston, MA TOKYO TRAMPS was formed by two Japanese musicians. The musical journey started when singer/songwriter/guitarist, Satoru Nakagawa left Japan to come to Louisiana searching for the roots of Rock’n’Roll. And he immersed himself in Blues, New Orleans Jazz, Funk, and Zydeco. Singer/bassist, Yukiko Fujii left a lucrative job in Tokyo and took a giant step following her dream to become a musician in America. Two met in Boston, MA and started the band in 1999. Satoru took its name TRAMPS from his early idol, Bruce Springsteen's song, Born To Run - "Tramps like us, baby, we were born to run.” Winner/contestant of many Blues Challenges.
