TOB004: Populette: "Mommy"/"Daddy" EP by Throne Of Blood published on 2010-01-26T21:34:17Z Throne of Blood's latest signings are veterans of New York's dance music scene. Max Pask and Andrew "the Wiz" Potter have been behind the decks for some of New York's most epic nights. From Illegal Volume at the long-defunct Volume warehouse in Williamsburg to Manhattan's 205 Club, APT, and dates across the US and Europe, these two can rock a party. Building off of a long-time friendship and DJ partnership, Populette marks a new direction for Pask and Potter, fusing their individual sensibilities into something at once deep and banging. Having remixed the likes of Soulwax, Tiefschwarz, The Rapture, Cut Copy, Who Made Who, 33Hz, and Findlay Brown, Pask is the seasoned studio pro with a penchant for storming percussion and analog freakouts. A veteran house DJ, Potter brings his own flavor into the mix, rooting Populette in the old school without ever forgetting what's next. The first release of what promises to be a very busy 2010 for Populette, their debut single showcases two corking original tunes plus remixes by fellow New York partystarters TBD (Lee Douglas from Rong Music and Justin V from the masterful Try To Find Me edits project on Golf Channel) and veteran DJ and promoter extraordinaire Eamon Harkin & Steve Raney (Mister Saturday Night/Sunday Best/Wurst Edits).
