January 15th, 2011 Threelakes played his first four songs in front of a
crowd in a venue near Verona. In March, after a couple of shows more, he
recorded the “Four Days Ep” at the Dead Keyboard Studio in Mantova with
the production of Luciano Ermondi (Tempelhof).
In April 2011 Threelakes played at the release party of Legna, the most
succesfull album of the band Gazebo Penguins, in this occasion Andrea
Sologni started to get interested in the War Tales project.
While playing many gigs, in december 2011 Luca started the recording
sessions of War Tales at the Igloo Audio Factory, with Andrea Sologni and
Threelakes gets everyday more important. In 2012 and 2013 he played 80
gigs and shared the stage with artists like Jon Spencer Blues Explosion,
Lee Ranaldo and the Dust, Marisa Anderson, Man Forever, Woodpecker
Wooliams, Giardini di Mirò, Doomsday Student, Gazebo Penguins, A Toys
Orchestra, Beatrice Antolini, Boxeur the Coeur, Bob Corn, Three in One
Gentleman Suit, Fuzz Orchestra, Tempelhof, Cut, Eveline and many more.
The 24th of June 2012 sees the first live gig of Threelakes and the Flatland
Eagles: in this date a big festival called Abbassa took place, a benefit concert
to raise money to help the reconstruction after the big earthquake that
hit Emilia Romagna in May 2012. From this point on, the live sessions of
Threelakes will be different form time to time: he plays acoustic sessions for
small crowds and he plays in big venues and arenas with the support of his
electric band, The Flatland Eagles.
In December 2012 Rockit.it (the most important italian music webzine)
ranked “The Day My Father Cried”, a preview of War Tales included in a
compilation, at the 9th place of the 100 best songs chart of the 2012. At the
same time they put Threelakes at the top of the 10 artist to bet on for the
In February 2013 Threelakes and the Flatlande Eagles released Uncle T Ep,
a special way to celebrate the new sound of the band. It was recorded live
and it contains 3 songs from Four Days Ep rearranged to fit the new electric
live experience. Uncle T collected a lot of enthusiastic reviews and built up
the expectations for War Tales.
In august 2013 Threelakes played a special solo show during the Wolfpack
Songwriters Collective Night in Berkeley, California, USA. In this occasion
he shared the stage with artists like Chaos of Birds, Sean McArdle and
Honey Noble. For the first time he played in front of the people that
inspired his music, in the land where his favourite artists were born, being
happy to see that the crowd’s reaction was excellent.
In October 2013 War Tales was released, the tour continues and if you are
reading this you’re now becoming part of the story.
