Tom Dockray Tom Dockray Copenhagen Tasmanian artist Tom Dockray began sharpening his teeth as a folk musician while alchemically birthing his own space in the music galaxy. A series of poorly-thought-through decisions saw him on the run, breathing in the vast Australian expanse until a chance meeting with a mystical Danish fortune-seller led him to northern Europe, where a masters degree at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen further tightened his musical screws. Now enjoying a renaissance of sorts, his palette echoes Neil Young’s ‘Harvest’ and J.S. Bach, colourfully storied with poetry in the vein of Philip Roth or the beautiful absurdity of Salvador Dali. Throughout, it is his underlying sense of humour that embraces the listener into Tom Dockray’s quest for beauty amidst the fog.
