With haunting vocals, rock instrumentation, synthesisers and epic string orchestration, The Unknown is truely a unique band. The Unknown has quickly become an underground success with major synchs in film and television. The band was featured in a major commercial in England for Vodafone with the song "Bang Bang Boom" and in the US the band made their debut in the Ron Howard/Vince Vaughn film "The Dilemma" gaining thousands of downloads on the film's soundtrack with their song "Ready, Aim Fire." The band has a song featured in an ABC promo and the video game "Need For Speed 12." The stand out single "Battle Line" features a hypnotic vocal from Carah Faye, lead singer of Shiny Toy Guns, and a bombastic chorus vocal by lead vocalist Tim Myers, former member of OneRepublic. The two singers went to the same high school but never met, meeting years later through a mutual friend. When they began working together they asked about each other's upbringing and to their shock they went to the same school and had many similar friends but never crossed paths. The band began recording songs in 2010 in Los Angeles with producers Tom Meredith and Mark Maxwell. The string orchestration being key to the sound was composed by Tim Myers and performed by Stevie Blacke (Weezer, The Kooks, Alice In Chains, P!nk).
