Paul Douglas was born Paul Douglas on October 11, 1985 in Hollywood, California. He would be raised however in Compton by his aunt who he also called mom. His time with his aunt would be short lived, and by the age of seven he was already in the system and in his first group home. While in the group home he liked to keep to him, but always had music within him. He would spend time writing and singing songs about his birth parents. This would become his way to cope with the outside world when he would be feeling down. Paul never took the singing seriously until 1997 when he lost his great-grandmother, and it was at that point he decided to make a commitment to singing in honor of her memory.
After moving all over the state of California from one group home to another he ended up in Riverside at the age of 17. Paul continued to pursue his singing, and began signing up for multiple singing competitions throughout Riverside County. He wasn’t doing it for the fame or popularity, but truly just wanted his voice to be heard. He just wanted people to hear him sing, but he did start winning most of the competitions he entered. By his senior year of high school he had a nice name for himself as the quiet kid that could sing. After graduating from high school, Paul moved back to Los Angeles where he attended Harbor College, taking classes in singing, writing, Introduction to midi, and several other classes that would help him further his career in music.
Paul discovered that Harbor College had a recording studio where he was later invited to come to by a female rapper he had met at an open mic event. When he got to the studio, he was asked what he was going to record. Paul didn’t have anything prepared, but decided to let the person in charge know he would be rapping although he had never rapper in his life ever. Paul was then given some beats and went into the booth and just rapped. It was then he knew he had found his calling. That was the day Paul became P. Hustle the Beast.
Since that time Paul has excelled in all aspects of music from singing, rapping, writing, producing, etc... Paul is a rare talent and so good and versatile at all things music. So when the time comes when the world finally gets to hear the Real Paul Douglas, and his music there is no doubt he will sky rocket and those around will be in for one hell of a ride.
Musical influences consist of Jay Z, Joe Budden, Lil Wayne, Method Man, KRS-One, Prince, Donnell Jones, Babyface, Ginuwine, Michael Jackson, Dru Hill, and Musiq Soul Child.
