Prestonpans/Edinburgh
Originating from Prestonpans, a small seaside town on the outskirts of Edinburgh, The Rah’s are an unsigned now five-piece indie rock band formed in 2009. The band consists of Jack McLeod (lead singer & guitar), Jordan McIntyre (lead guitar & vocals), Andrew McLeod (bass guitar), Neale Gray (drums) and from January 2016 Chris Karpacz (keys, percussion, guitar & vocals).
The band members are close knit, having grown up together, they are friendly likeable lads who share a passion for music as well as being incredibly talented. Its these traits that have gained them an ever growing band of loyal followers.
Citing bands such as Arctic Monkeys, The Enemy and Kasabian as influences, The Rah's also cast their musical nets deeper, taking further inspiration from the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix and offer skilled songwriting, polished instrumentals, sing-a-long choruses and slick vocals; whilst the sky-scraping psychedelic-tinged music puts their heads firmly amongst the stars.
The Rah's launched their debut EP 'Give Me Life' in April 2012 and followed it up with their second EP ‘Living The Dream’ in May 2013. The band took their second EP right over Scotland, in May/June 2013, with a mini tour promoting their music and getting a superb amount of feedback. Their loyal support followed them all over the country in superb numbers. On the tour the band rocked Glasgow, Aberdeen, Elgin, Inverness, Dundee and finishing up with a packed out show in Edinburgh. The tour got a superb amount of feedback and reviews from the likes of STV and many local papers up and down the country. The Rah’s released their another single ‘If You Never Try You’ll Never Know’ in May 2014, the music video features many famous locations in the capital Edinburgh.
Over the years The Rah’s have supported a great number of acts including The View, The Fratellis, Jon Fratelli, Twisted Wheel, The Rifles, The Complete Stone Roses, Chris Helme (The Seahorses), Vigo Thieves, The Phantom Band, Steve Diggle (The Buzzcocks).
The band are currently recording new material and intend to release more singles and EP’s, with an album in the pipeline and then take their sound and image all over the UK.
