Sid Gabriel & Chris Sia's performance art. A collaborative fusion of video, music, dance and technology from the future. Post-post-modern future vision show. Sid & Chris have been making art together since 2003, with many different names, as their work has always reflected the present moment, outer world reflecting the inner, and vice versa... They currently comprise half of the !Armageddon Prevention Team with their comrades ill.Gates & Eugene Steele. Two years ago, they began performing as 3L3V3N. On January 1, 2012, they became theOneOne. Putting numbers as names aside, having immersed themselves in the Oneness, they have reassembled as a fusion of themselves, their stage personas, through technology and tireless dedication, sourced from Oneness and their immovable faith in humans.
They are now GABRIEL | SIA.
TheOneOne was launched on 01/01/11, and essentially it is the collective works of a group of artists that are dedicated to expressing, sharing and disseminating Oneness. Currently it is the dyad of Chris Sia & Sid Gabriel, but beneath this umbrella is: 3L3V3N, the !Armageddon Prevention Team, LightNucleus, and many more... As this site is a music forum, please find our humble offerings, and check out our other pages, as we are multidisciplinary/multimedia artists.
3L3V3N is the collective work of Chris Sia & Sid Gabriel. Their symbol is "11", a prime number represented by two ones side by side which can only be divided into whole numbers by itself and One. With a sound from a indiscernible--yet familiar--future and the refracting light of alternate realities, 3L3V3N performs live electronic music and visual art that celebrates and demonstrates the indivisibility of consciousness and the source energy of our universe.
Chris Sia and Sid Gabriel met in the Black Rock Desert in 2002 and have been making art together since 2003. In 2010 Sid began providing visual art for Chris's DJ sets and for the !Armageddon Prevention Team. In 2011 Sid and Chris began making music together fusing their Musical, Visual and Performing Arts together as The One One. For performances, they chose "3L3V3N", the l33t spelling of "eleven," because the number "11" and the time "3:33" had been showing up in their lives at a statistically impossible frequency, or rather 3L3V3N, named them.
The !Armageddon Prevention Team was borne out of a meeting between Ill.Gates & Chris Sia. They worked together on Bassnectar's "Underground Communication" tour in the spring of 2005, focusing on bringing awareness of "net neutrality" to the audiences. Their initial desire was to create a video to screen before the music started. Time constraints prevented this from happening, so when the dynamic duo later teamed up in San Francisco, they decided to make another video, addressing another social concern: war. The !Armageddon Prevention Team is simply that: a cadre of artists and activists that utilize the performance platform/canvas as a multimedia onslaught of inspiring and motivating art to foster dialectics concerning geo-political, social, spiritual and environmental concerns. Enlisting Eugene Steele as Sonic Arsenal Manager, they made that video, entitled "The Litany." You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBsep4Xosk8.
Since then, the !Team has been hard at work, preventing Armageddon and making art. They have been creating multimedia performances with original music and remixes, film, evocative dance theater, video, and installation. They premiered "The Litany" at the Emrg+N+See Festival in the summer of 2006 and screened it again at Raindance. Their first multimedia show, "Advanced Peace Technologies," was premiered at the Emrg+N+See Festival in the summer of 2007, and was performed in Portland, Ashland, and in San Francisco. Their following multimedia show, "All People's Temple," was premiered at the Symbiosis Festival in 2009, closing out the Main Stage on Sunday night, and was performed again in San Francisco at Temple. They recently created another multimedia show entitled "All Polarites Transcended," which was premiered at the Burning Man Festival of 2010, where they enlisted Sid Gabriel as reigning video artist. Sid introduced the "Light Nucleus," an interactive video installation that reacts to sound, light & motion. In 2011, they performed "ACTION>PRAXIS<THEORY" at Alchemeyez Visionary Arts Congress and at Burning Man. "Apocalypse Plans Terminated," was performed throughout 2012, resulting in the most banal yet apropos conclusion to the 13 Bhaktun.
