South Wales trio CHROMA release their explosive new single ‘Vampires’ on October 27th via Datod Records across all digital platforms.
‘Vampires’ is their first release since playing the BBC R1 Introducing Stages at Reading & Leeds Festival 2017. Early support for ‘Vampires’ includes three plays from Huw Stephens (Radio 1); Inclusion on The Best Of R1 Introducing playlist; a feature in Metro Newspaper prior to Reading/Leeds; 6 weeks Playlisting on The New Rock Show on Planet Rock, Wyatt Wendels; BBC Radio Wales; BBC Radio Cymru; Amazing Radio; Hoxton Radio (Elspeth Pierce track of the week) and Roundhouse Radio.
CHROMA are three-piece bilingual band from the South Wales valleys, which formed in the summer of 2015 and is comprised of Katie Hall (vocals), Liam Bevan (guitarist) and Zac Mather (drums). They won the Cardiff Music Award for Best Breakthrough Act 2017 and C2 BBC Radio Cymru's Brwydr y Bandiau 2016.
‘Vampires’, the second cut off their self-titled 2016 EP, is a ferocious offering from the young, Welsh upstarts and comes to radio and streaming in a new remastered version by producer Steffan Pringle (Estrons, Himalayas). Driven by a angry, noisy thundering bass riff and the powerful vocals of Katie Hall, CHROMA’s new single sits comfortably alongside the big hitters in the world of indie and alternative rock. You’d be forgiven for thinking that there is more than just three members to this band, ‘Vampires’ offers an all round bold and riotous sound. Of the track lead singer Katie said, “Vampires live among us, but these days there not afraid of daylight. The song is about being aware of the bloodsucking creatures that live next door... and calling them out on it.”
CHROMA have gigged extensively over the last year honing their live sound, including a sold-out shows supporting, Peace, Idles VANT, BBC Horzions/Gorwelion showcases and The Social, London and Focus Wales Festival. The summer saw the trio perform at Reading & Leeds as well as Festival No 6.
