The Jive Monkey Cartel serves as my all-purpose ensemble. The basic premise behind "the Cartel" is that anything can happen, and you never know who might make a special appearance... My name is Tory, btw; I am a composer and I play guitar, keys and bass. Improvisation is a specialty of mine. I don't specialize in any one particular style, but am very partial toward Jazz , Rock, Fusion, World, Classical and Weirdness in general.....
Now available for / offering remote session work for your musical project(s) - guitar, bass, drums, soundscaping, production, and beyond. All styles / genres, solid rates.
I enjoy collaborating with other musicians / vocalists....... but do not normally actively seek out collaborators; translation: if you want to work with me, you'll need to drop me a line.......If you have some good ideas, can sing or play, and record yourself..... Let's make it happen.....
All forms & styles of music / organized sound (even unorganized sound) are appealing to me and part of my artistic palette..... so.... attempts to impose any imagined rules or restrictions upon me with regards to my musical output will result in disappointment.
The Jive Monkey Cartel?
This is Jazz...........filtered through the lenses of Funk, Latin, Rock, World beat, classical, avant-garde, instrumental madness, uncharted musical theory, electronica, music/sounds from distant sub-stellar civilizations and other adornments, neatly presented here for your amusement. Their material is saturated with groove, lyricism, and tasty chops aplenty, and with enough of each to satisfy even the most cynical among us. The Jive Monkey Cartel is a difficult group to pigeonhole and that's by disposition, I know that's an overused Cliche' used to demonstrate an ensembles' versatility, but for this group it fits all too well. If I had to use just a few words to translate the overall sound of the group I would say they sound like: constant and abstract dichotomous groove method. Having said that I would also like to point out that it does not really sound as pretentious as that just sounded. Definitely not music for the masses, but for the fan of jazz and / or fusion there is much here to enjoy and excite.
A concerned listener like yourself
Side note* If you're the type of vulture who just tries to get people to follow you so that you can quickly "un-follow" them in return (to make it look like you have more going on than you really do), don't even bother.......
