I too am in the Mental Health Counseling field, I just finished my masters last year and I am in the process of looking to gain my hours toward licensure to become a Mental Health Counselor. I've made a therapist and my mom cry in a session when I was a teenager. For a long time I held on to that because I was confused. I really didn't understand how I was coming for help and these two adult black women were crying at the truth I had at the time. I kind of knew that they had felt my pain as young black woman trying to find my way. But every once and awhile I would think of that day and wonder why they were just there crying with no solution. Thank you for this moment of the conversation.
