The Four Fours The Four Fours Derby Back in 2014, Chris & Matt had the great idea to find cheap flights and go away on a trip. Unfortunately they couldn't find any and instead they booked a session at Rich's studio, Snug Recording Co. Rich was quickly coerced into drumming and out of the session emerged The Four Fours! Chris, Matt & Rich were (at some point or other) part of math rock wonder band You Slut (apologies for the potty-mouth). YS did a Maida Vale session for the BBC, toured Europe and their album Critical Meat sold out in Japan (making 100,000 Yen, about 500 quid). The Four Fours’ name doffs its cap to the time signature shenanigans of their former outfit. Plus originally there were three of them. Good segue… three became four when Col joined the band in 2018 and took over bass duties, freeing Matt up to sing and dance.
