The Du-Rites (J-Zone & Pablo Martin) New York The Du-Rites are a funk duo comprised of Jay Mumford (J-Zone) and Pablo Martin. Pablo on lead and rhythm guitars, bass guitar and synthesizer; Jay on drums, organ, bass guitar and turntables. Individually, Pablo plays guitar with the legendary Tom Tom Club and spent years as a mastering engineer (including mastering the old J-Zone rap albums). Jay has been a fixture in independent hip-hop since 1999 and has worked as a studio drummer for Danger Mouse, Marco Polo and on various film scores in recent years. The Du-Rites have worked with a wide range of musical forces since their inception in 2016, including Eddie Palmieri, Robert Glasper and Ghostface Killah. They also scored a large portion of the original music for Bobbito Garcia's Rock Rubber 45s film. Their self-titled debut LP (2016), sophomore effort, Greasy Listening (2017) and a series of singles round out their own output as they prepare for the release of their third LP, Gamma Ray Jones - a soundtrack to a lost 1972 TV detective show. Gamma Ray Jones drops November 2018.
