The Deluminated Darkness Coming Oslo We are the Deluminated, a musical group (not a Secret Order, or Cult) dedicated to opposing the romantic vision of illumination. Our music consists of psychedelic absurdity, industrial/ machine morbidity, pop sentimentality, hard-hitting rock and philosophical, cosmic musings. (Remember: this will take the form of a musical group, and definitely not a Secret Order, or Cult). Members: Epistemoligus Illumination is about "understanding" some fundamental, underlying Truth. In standard, western theological terms it has to do with the direct, personal experience of God, or "Gnosis". God in this context might mean any notion of the highest ideal or universal understanding. What is there to "fundamentally understand"? The universe consists of so many factors, nonsimultaneous events and dynamic processes - that occur on such a colossal scale that we cannot hope to comprehend them yet. Do you think you can fundamentally understand that? The Flaming Lips wrote in their song Do You Realize: "You realize the sun don't go down, it's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round". When you think of all these processes that we take for granted, affecting each other, it must mean that we as beings are directly connected to them by merely experiencing them. Some Nutjob said "Consciousness is the universe seeing itself". That is, of course, a notion which is hard to sustain, as you still superimpose an identity upon "THE UNIVERSE", which it doesn't seem to justify. The purpose of The Deluminated is to combat illumination with musical and multimedia-based performances. If this project generates even a little bit of uncertainty and hilarity in times of bullshit, then something has been achieved. Remember: nothing can be said to be static (also we're not a Secret Order, or Cult). If Atlas can shrug or Telemachus can sneeze, why can't Lucifer take a day off or Satan repent?
