The Art Of Escaping
Combining hard rock & metal influences into their own special blend, The Art Of Escaping was formed in early 2014 by lead vocalist/guitarist Justin Brand and rhythm guitarist Mark Warren. Wanting to set themselves apart from the crowd, they decided on making the music heavy but with a strong melodic edge.
The two were joined a month or so later by drummer Nick Barker and things started to take shape, writing and rehearsing the three songs that would finally make it onto The Art Of Escaping’s powerful debut EP ‘Three Ways’.
The final piece of the puzzle slotted into place when bassist Ben Gallacher entered the fold in May 2014.
Since then the band have been working tirelessly honing their sound, rehearsing and writing what will become their debut album, due in 2015.
In the band’s relatively short life so far they have made a big impact, achieving radio airplay on both sides of the Atlantic on www.rockbandomradio.com and www.phillyrockradio.com , they have also released their self financed debut EP on their own label in July 2014 which is available on iTunes, AmazonMP3, GooglePlay and various other digital retailers.
- The Art Of Escaping are second to none. Not only are they a real talent and pleasure to listen to, they are also some the nicest guys around. It's always a great pleasure to play their songs on Rock Bandom Radio. The Art Of Escaping sound just as good live as their CD debut 'Three Ways' making their live show a must. All in all, I believe they are going places and we (RockBandom) will stick by them all the way... - Scotty-D Rock Bandom Radio...... (Owner and CEO of www.rockbandomradio.com)
- Every now and then in my quest to showcase awesome UK bands from "Across The Pond" I don't mind being Kicked in the b*lls with a world beating sound. The Art Of Escaping did just that they kicked me HARD!! Debut EP???? That's no Debut EP!! "Three Ways” is a real Lubricant for your ears. Philly Rock Radio loves showcasing up and coming 'pro-class' bands, well, we got it in 'The Art Of Escaping'. LISTEN UP \M/ \M/ - Marty Alderton (Contributor and presenter of The Saloon Rock Club, www.phillyrockradio.com - USA)
- Brilliant rock EP! If you're a metal/rock fan you should check out this band. I've been listening to this 3-track EP over and over again since discovering it. I can hear influences from Anthrax, Metallica, Stone Sour, but the sound is something fresh and current. They are the type of songs where the music expresses as much as the lyrics and the lyrics are excellent. This is modern rock music at its best. – Maria Savva (UK Arts Directory)
- Three Ways is a solid debut EP, but I feel like TAOE have held back slightly, possibly hiding their heavier stuff? I’d definitely love to hear heavier tracks from them, but the four-piece from Norwich definitely have potential and a great sound, which I’m gasping for more of… Three tracks isn’t enough! - Trisha (Raarrsome Ramblings)
With a successful 2014 under their belts, 2015 looks set to be a busy year for The Art Of Escaping encompassing their debut album release, more shows, videos and much, much more.
