London, UK.
Music Artist / Podcaster / Aspiring Psychologist.
Alex's first musical involvement started when attending a DJ Skills course at Point Blank Music Studios in London. Alongside being a DJ at Students nights, and gaining a residency in Brighton. His independent label 'Over Recordings' launched. The success followed as part of the electronic music four-piece 'Let the Machines Do the Work'. The group quickly gained support from the likes of Annie Mac and Zane Lowe including BBC Radio 1 coverage and a 'Track of the Day' highlight. Several notable stage performances and a steady stream of releases on labels such as Kerri Chandler's 'Madtech' were quickly followed by Kitsune, Toolroom Longplayer, Champion, and Eton Messy. The group also appeared on the 2018 Madtech Summer Sampler and remixed acclaimed Swedish artist Karen Park alongside Chris Lorenzo and Hannah Wants.
As the group came to an end, Alex went on to focus on his other projects. One which was featured and given a 9 out of 10 reviews in the DJ Mag 'New Releases' column and was also asked to provide a free download on XLR8R. Shortly after launching these projects, Alex met Drew Shobieri at music college. Combining their ideas ever since, and therefore creating smart, intricate music delivered. The pair signed for an EP release on an EMI sub-label as a KPM shorts - [Sony BMG publishing] A solo artist, above success, Alex decided to follow his solo career into some more depth. A remix from Josh Butler revived the Alex Over brand.
Now played alongside Booka Shade @ Oval Space, James Zabiela, Klangkarussell, a live set at Gottwood Festival, Brighton's Great Escape preceding Flux Pavillion, Friend Within, Ejeca and was chosen to warm up for Zane Lowe at the Relentless launch party and DJ Mag's Global Gathering tent.
Alex, now being a keen academic and alongside his music, he is working towards a long-term goal of qualifying in Psychology. Fundamental in his development and areas of work he's involved around. One which takes a long time to attain these correct skill sets, especially to become a qualified Psychologist. Focusing on supporting the aspect of wellbeing within the music industry, is one part of this - his way of giving something back to a sector of which he has long associated.
And, lastly currently in the process of creating a new independent label, a whole new catalogue/showcasing an imminent release schedule with a number of his tracks, other up and coming artists and collaborative productions destined to start in early 2020.
