Roots by The Third Space published on 2014-07-13T16:56:01Z The “Roots” EP is the fourth release and first EP released by UK base, virtual indie-pop band “The Third Space”, comprising longstanding friends Hendrik “Henk” Kleinsmiede and Joe Farthing. Track Listing: 1) Don't Turn The Telly On 2) Hide in Heaven 3) It's Not You, It's Me 4) Absent Fathers Bonus Track: 5) I Hope I Wake Up This EP was written in the late summer and early autumn of 2015. Somewhat unusually for “The Third Space”, this is a record remarkably devoid of social commentary. Rather than wider, world politics, it focuses on personal politics: upheaval, turmoil and change. Both opener "Don't Turn The Telly On" and "It's Not You, It's Me" chronicle different stages in the deterioration of a relationship; "Absent Fathers" addresses the impact divorce has on two generations; and "Hide in Heaven" documents the saddest of all themes, the death of a child. The EP might be called "Roots", but the overriding theme is about being uprooted...
